10 Kinda Random Things About Me

Nicole Elizabeth is so excited to introduce the newest team member, Jillian Forney! Jillian has joined our team as the business and marketing coordinator and is diving in head first. As part of saying hi she has jotted down 10 Kinda Random Facts about herself. Take it away Jillian!

Hi everyone! My name is Jillian and I am the Business & Marketing Coordinator for Nicole Elizabeth INTRS.

One: Senior International Business Major

I am currently a senior International Business major at Temple University in Philadelphia, but I will be graduating very shortly. I chose to attend a university in Philadelphia because of all the great opportunities the city provides, including working with Nicole Elizabeth INTRS.

Two: My Farm Upbringing

I grew up on a farm in Central Pennsylvania. My family has raised everything from rabbits to goats to the numerous kittens I brought home without telling my parents! If I wasn’t out in the barn, you could usually find me riding along on the tractor with my dad while he was tending to the soybeans, corn, and alfalfa.

Three: A Barista Bum and a Coffee Fanatic

There is always time for some side hustle! When I’m not working with our fabulous CEO, Danielle, you can probably find me slinging lattes at Saxbys Rittenhouse. I love getting to be creative behind the barista bar while also fueling my caffeine addiction.

Four: Studying Broadly and Without Fear

I have been lucky enough to study abroad twice during my short lifetime. When I was 17 years old, I spent a year abroad in Belgium. During my sophomore year of college, I spent a semester abroad at Temple University Japan in Tokyo. The two experiences were extremely different but taught me so much about other cultures as well as myself. Having friends and family across the globe is one of my favorite things.

Five: Francophone

Kind of spit balling off my last random fact but living abroad gave me the opportunity to learn French! While I was in Belgium, I lived with three different French-speaking families and attended a school where all my classes were taught in French. Before going, I knew almost nothing, so it was a challenge! 5 years later, my French is a little rocky, but I can hold my own!

Six: Travel Obsessed

I love a good adventure! I’ve been to 14 different countries and have plenty more on my list. One of my favorite activities is browsing the internet for cheap flights to new destinations. This coming summer, my boyfriend and I are planning a trip to visit his family in Scotland (after a quick stop in London)!

Seven: Sometimes a Cook, Sometimes Not

Now I will be the first to admit that I don’t love cooking for myself. More specifically, I don’t love cleaning up after cooking a big meal. With that being said, I love trying out new recipes when I get to cook for my friends (especially when someone else volunteers to do the dishes afterwards)!

Eight: Brunch with Buddies

One of my all-time FAVE things to is try out new brunch spots anywhere and everywhere! I will not argue with anyone, but I think it is safe to say that breakfast foods are simply the best foods that exist. Nothing is better than Eggs Benedict paired with a hazelnut latte on a Saturday afternoon. If you are ever in the Philadelphia area, I highly recommend trying Ants Pants Café on South Street!

Nine: Pop Lock & Squat

Fitness and being healthy has become an increasingly important part of my life, as it helps me feel great both mentally and physically. I love getting up early to go for a run, but I also love getting into the gym and hitting some heavy weights. When in doubt, squat it out!

Ten: Soccer Shocker

Soccer has been a long-time hobby of mine. It was one of the first sports I was ever introduced to and it was major part of my life from age 5 to 16. Despite only being 5’3”, I was the varsity goalkeeper for my high school’s team. We may not have won a lot of games, but we always had fun together.
